People misbehaving at parties, baby birds hatching, injured seagulls recovering, car bombs, and friends just having fun, are some of the activities capturd by ddCam. Occasionally, you can even watch us live in the office (woo hoo!). Visit the gallery to check out the fun. |

High-quality images on this site are taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 stills camera with 8-Megapixels and a 35-420mm lens with optical image stabilization. Most are shot in RAW format for printing and archival purposes, before being converted and reduced for Internet use using Adobe Camera RAW and Photoshop. Video footage is shot with a Panasonic NV-GS15 MiniDV camera and captured via FireWire before being edited and converted using Adobe Premiere and TMPGEnc. The earlier still images were shot on a Nikon CoolPix 800 which is still producing excellent results. Older video clips & vidcap images were "filmed" on a JVC GR-AX48 VHS-C handicam, seen here taking a picture of itself via two mirrors. This was connected to a ////Fast Multimedia Fp/s60 video capture board. Frame-capture software we prefer is WebCam32 by Neil Kolban, although it is is no longer being sold by Surveyor Corporation. |

Other equipment used includes miniature wireless cameras (for roving at parties and monitoring birds), audio-video modulators and transmitters, and external USB TV/video capture units. All of the above equipment is available from Protech Systems. |

For a deeper look into homes much further away, a slightly more complicated camera is required, like this one on the Viking Lander. |
