What is "A Touch of Mandela"?
"A Touch of Mandela" is the title given to Nelson Mandela’s art initiative. Currently, this series includes 21 sketches of poignant landmarks on Robben Island that hold significant meaning for Nelson Mandela. From the original sketches, 5 works have been selected for publication and entitled "My Robben Island".
Mr Mandela recently completed a second series of works, entitled "Impressions of Mandela" which will be released for public viewing on the 7th of February 2003 at an event hosted by Nelson Mandela and Belgravia Gallery.
What is the size of this edition?
The edition consists of five sketches and an Artist's Motivation, written in Mr Mandela’s own handwriting. The edition of lithographs is made up of 500 signed and numbered prints and 50 artist proof sets. The works have been printed on a 100% cotton paper in both vertical and horizontal formats. Each print measures 500mm X 650mm (25.6" X 19").
What is the price of the works?

Where were the lithographs printed?
The processing, proofing and printing of the series was done under the supervision of the Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT by Professor Stephen Inggs and Tamarind Master Printer, Ernestine White.
How was Varenke Paschke involved?
Varenka is a young contemporary South African artist (within all mediums) who privately tutored Nelson Mandela. She assisted Mr Mandela with both the composition and the application of colour.
Who benefits from the funds raised by this initiative?
Proceeds from the sale of artworks are awarded to the Nelson Mandela Trust, an organization specifically created to distribute funds to organizations in which Mr Mandela is personally involved.
Who is responsible for publishing the Mandela works?
Ad Point (Pty) Ltd, headed by Ross Calder, is responsible for the publishing, marketing, promotion and sales of Nelson Mandela’s artwork.
